What are we celebrating? On November 1, 1973, late Devaraj Urs the then Chief Minister of our state took the landmark decision of unifying all kannadigas under the state of Karnataka and on this day every year birthday of the state is celebrated. This is popularly called as Kannada Rajyotsava or Karnataka Rajyotsava. Rajyotsava means “birth of a state”.

NZKK would like to extend a warm welcome to all kiwi kannadigas to attend and participate kannada rajyotsava and make the celebration a grand success. Celebrations for the day includes chaats from 5pm to 6pm followed by Flag hoisting, naada geete, national anthems, prize distribution and cultural programs.

To make the day extra special we request everyone to dress up in Red and Yellow!!!!
